Meridian High School Enrichment Students Take Escape Room Challenge

May 01, 2022

On Thursday April 28, 2022, the Meridian High School Enrichment students once again were fortunate to be able to travel to Lincoln and take on two challenging Escape Rooms. Escape rooms are themed rooms with a thrilling story, occupants are locked into the rooms and have to find a way out. Occupants have one hour to escape, they must work together find clues, solve problems and puzzles to escape before the time runs out. Meridian students were split into two groups: (the seniors and juniors) and (sophomores and freshman). Only one team was fortunate enough to escape their room. One highlight that stood out was the sophomores and freshman were able to escape the dark vampire themed LiCastro’s Lair. The seniors and juniors were just minutes away from escaping their Judgment themes room but came up short. The Meridian Enrichment students that participated were Seniors: Brynn Holtmeier, Drew Niederklein, Kenna Placek, Erika Schwisow Juniors: Chase Bartels, Kailyn Paul Sophomores: Kolton Kumpf, Kymber Schwisow, Evelyn Woitalewicz and Freshman: Mackenzie Hofstetter, Taelyn Filipi and Samuel Thomas.

The Meridian Enrichment students were treated to a meal at Shogun Japanese Steakhouse. The students were taken out of their comfort zone as they had a taste of Japanese cuisine along with a show as their chef cooked their food in front of their eyes. What a fun and exciting way to wrap up another fantastic school year.
