Meridian High School Enrichment Students Take Escape Room Challenge

April 30, 2021

On Thursday April 29, 2021, the Meridian High School Enrichment students once again were fortunate to be able to travel to Lincoln and take on four challenging Escape Rooms. Escape rooms are themed rooms with a thrilling story, occupants are locked into the rooms and have to find a way out. Occupants have one hour to escape, they must work together find clues, solve problems and puzzles to escape before the time runs out. Meridian students were split into two groups: (the seniors and juniors) and (sophomores and freshman). Each team was fortunate enough to attempt and escape two rooms. One highlight that stood out was the seniors and juniors were able to escape the dark vampire themed LiCastro’s Lair. With one second remaining on the clock, the seniors and juniors were able to escape before LiCastro woke up to terrorize them. The Meridian Enrichment students are Seniors: Lane Barton, Kezia Connealy, Mackenzie Rau

Juniors: Brynn Holtmeier, Allison Kort, Drew Niederklein, Kenna Placek, Kaitlynn Pollock, Erika Schwisow Sophomores: Chase Bartels, Kailyn Paul Freshman: Kolton Kumpf, Kymber Schwisow, Evelyn Woitalewicz.

To wrap up the evening, students were treated to a meal at Red Robin gourmet burgers. With the challenges of this school year, this field trip allowed the students a chance to get back to some kind of normalcy in a fun, challenging and safe environment
