Protocols for MUDECAS Basketball Tournament 2021
BEATRICE, NE, JANUARY 4, 2021 - The MUDECAS Conference has adopted a set of protocols for the 2021 Basketball tournament to make the tournament as safe and accommodating as possible for our student athletes and everyone involved. These protocols will apply to the two host sites of the 2021 basketball tournament: A Division - Beatrice City Auditorium; and B Division - Beatrice Middle School. Protocols are:
- Each school is allowed a maximum of 185 spectators for games in which their school plays.
- Each school is responsible for determining spectators on the pass list for their respective schools.
- Only the individuals on a pass list for a game will be allowed to attend the games, along with members of the media who must show their credentials.
- Gyms will be cleared between games, and spectators may only watch games in which their school team plays.
- Student sections will not be provided.
- Spectators will not be allowed to enter venues until the previous game is over and the spectators have exited.
- Spectators are required to wear face masks that cover the nose and mouth at all times while at a contest or performance, unless eating concessions and spaced more than six feet from other household units.
- Coaches, sponsors, and non-active participants (i.e. non-playing/singing) are required to wear face masks that cover the nose and mouth at all times.
- Concessions will be provided at contests.
- 50 and 25 year past boys champion players, and 15 year past boys champion players will not be invited to be recognized in-person at games.
- The 50 year past boys champion team was Adams (A Division), and there was no B Division that year.
- The 25 year past boys champion teams were Filley (A Division), and Palmyra (B Division).
- The 15 year past girls champion teams were Exeter-Milligan (A Division), and Diller-Odell (B Division).
- Locker rooms are not to be made available for teams to change or shower.
- Players will be expected to show up and leave in uniform, and teams will only be able to use locker rooms for pregame and halftime talks.
- Teams need to leave the court immediately after games, and depart from the gym floor to their school bus/vehicle.
