Happy Halloween from the First Grade Class

For Halloween the first grade class did a fun "Disappearing Pumpkin" experiment for science. Materials used included: candy corn pumpkins, water, milk, oil and vinegar. Students had to predict how each liquid would transform the pumpkin after sitting in it for 1 hour. Students recorded what the pumpkins looked like before, and after. Then we had discussions on what changes occurred for each pumpkin. In the end, it was decided that the pumpkin in vinegar had the greatest change because it almost completely disappeared!
