Meridian High School has an active cheerleading squad that promotes school spirit at home and away sport activities. The squad consists of students that try out in the spring for the following school year. The number of cheerleaders on the squad will vary. Cheerleaders cheer at volleyball, football, wrestling, and basketball games. In addition to cheering at sport activities, cheerleaders will be involved in pep rallies, fund raising, and community projects. The Meridian cheerleaders often participate at the state level competitions in Grand Island, Nebraska. Try outs are open to all students in grade 8-11 in the spring of the year.
