Organ Transplant Care Package Donations
“Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.”
This holiday season, the Meridian FFA Chapter will be partnering with the Friend FFA and FCCLA Chapters for a service project to put together care packages for children who are waiting to have an organ transplant and/or those who have received an organ transplant. A new name is added to the organ transplant waiting list every ten minutes. The patients and their families are in the hospital for weeks or months at a time while waiting on a transplant or after receiving one. Our goal is to provide 40 care packages for the children and their families during this holiday season to bring them a bit of joy and cheer! The items collected will be hand-delivered by the Friend and Meridian officer teams to children and their families at the Omaha Medical Center on December 20th.
We are asking each student to provide at least one item for our care packages. All items must be new and from a non-smoking environment. Below is a list of recommended items provided by The Child Life at the Nebraska Medical Center. Items may be brought to Ms. Wollenburg’s room by Friday, December 13th.
