Third Grade Play - "The Baker's Neighbor"

February 17, 2020

On Friday, February 14th, the 3rd-grade class performed a play called, "The Baker's Neighbor". We have a play every 6 weeks with the Wonder's reading curriculum. This play took place in Lima, Peru. The plot was the baker's neighbor, Antahalupa, was delighting in the sweet aromas of the baker's baked goods, for free. This upset the baker. The case was taken to court and the news flooded the town of gossip about how the baker was rather greedy. The judge, Kellen Sones, ruled that the neighbor give the baker 100 gold coins. After the baker took pleasure in counting each coin in front of the judge, the judge told the baker to give his neighbor his money back. For the baker had enjoyed counting his neighbor's money, for free. In this performance, our bakers were Landon Bachle and Fenton Paul. But our real-life baker was Terry Ann Brandt! She generously baked Kolaches for our props and a delectable treat.  Thank you again, Terry Ann, for bringing the Czech culture to our classroom! And thank you families and staff members for attending our play!
