Meridian High School Enrichment Students Take Escape Room Challenge
On Thursday April 27, 2023, the Meridian High School Enrichment students once
again were fortunate to be able to travel to Lincoln and take on two challenging
Escape Rooms. Escape rooms are themed rooms with a thrilling story, occupants
are locked into the rooms and have to find a way out. Occupants have one hour
to escape, they must work together find clues, solve problems and puzzles to
escape before the time runs out. Meridian students were split into two groups:
(the seniors and juniors) and (sophomores and freshman). Only one team was
fortunate enough to escape their room. One highlight that stood out was the
seniors and juniors were able to solve The Missing Musician mystery and escape.
The freshmen and sophomores were just minutes away from escaping with the
antidote in The Cure themed room but came up short. The Meridian Enrichment
students that participated were Seniors: Chase Bartels, Kailyn Paul, Amber
Vinsonhaler Juniors: Koltom Kumpf, Kymber Schwisow, Jaala Stewart, Evleyn
Woitalewic Sophomores: Taelyn Filipi, McKenzie Hofstetter, Samuel Thomas and
Freshman: Luke Seeman, Olivia Schafer, Jenna Woitalewicz.
The Meridian Enrichment students were treated to a meal at Shogun Japanese
Steakhouse. The students were taken out of their comfort zone as they had a
taste of Japanese cuisine along with a show as their chef cooked their food in
front of their eyes. What a fun and exciting way to wrap up another fantastic
school year. – Mr. Placek
