Veteran's Day Service At Meridian School
On November 11, 2022, it was an honor for the National Honor Society to present the Veteran's Day program along with helping with the Quilt of Valor Ceremony. Speaker, Tim Summers, gave a history of Veteran's Day, the sacrifices Veterans have made, and how we should honor services members. He ended his speech by thanking all the veterans, "thank you for your service, through your blood and sacrifice, you have given us freedom, security, and the greatest nation on earth." Thank you Tim for such a heartfelt and touching speech.
We ended the ceremony with the Quilt of Valor. These are the five service men honored:
*Bob Summers - Navy - 1966-1972
*Dave Summers - Navy - 1968-1972
*Joe Summers - Army National Guard and Army - 24 years of service
*Steve "Snuff" Summers - Navy - 6 years of service
*Tim Summers - Nebraska National Guard - 27 years of service
Thank you to all our Veteran's for their service. Let us not forget the sacrifices you made and continue to make for our freedom.
