Last week, students from Friend, Exeter-Milligan & Meridian schools donated hundreds of gifts for heart transplant care packages in memory of three children who were organ donors. Two children who’ve received heart transplants at Children’s, Noah and Jeremiah, were there to thank them and share their personal stories. We thank these communities for their generosity & for understanding the power of organ donation. #DonateLife

The town of Friend, Nebraska lived up to its name Friday, delivering gifts for our pediatric patients. The Arp family organized the effort in honor of Beckett Arp. Beckett's organs were donated after he died in a car accident in 2015 just five days before his 7th birthday. This year Friend Public School was joined by Exeter-Milligan Public Schools, as well as Meridian Public School, The Meridian students donated in honor of two of their students who became organ donors after a terrible car accident last spring. All these items are already brightening the holidays for families who will be spending Christmas in the hospital. Our thanks to the Arp family and all the schools that took part!
