MUDECAS Senior High Quiz Bowl

The Meridian Senior High Quiz Bowl Team participated in the MUDECAS Quiz Bowl competition on Monday, March 31.  This double-elimination competition was held at Johnson County Central in Tecumseh.  Fourteen teams attended, each consisting of four players with one alternate. Representing Meridian were seniors Brianne, Tyson, Jackson, and Matthew.  Logan, a junior, was the alternate for the team.  All five students participated in the competition, rotating in and out of matches.

Meridian lost their first match to Nebraska City Lourdes with a score of 95 to 50; but Meridian came back in the next match with Pawnee City, scoring 45 to 30.  The third match was against Diller-Odell, gaining Meridian a double sudden-death victory score of 45 to 35.  The next match was a victory over Fall City Sacred Heart, 70 to 60.  Meridian's next match also ended with sudden death, beating Exeter-Milligan with a  score of 60 to 50.  Meridian's second loss was to Humbolt-Table Rock-Steinauer with a score of 28 to 0.  

Meridian received the third place plaque in the tournament, with their only losses to the first and second place winners.  Humbolt-Table Rock-Steinauer placed first in the tournament and Nebraska City Lourdes placed second.  Congratulation to the Meridian Senior High Quiz Bowl Team!
