One Acts Receive Second at Conference and District Contests
On November 16, the One-Act cast and crew, along with director, Rene’ Scheer, traveled to Cross County High School to perform “Rome Is Where The Heart Is” at the Crossroads Conference competition. The following students make up the cast and crew: Ty Brakhage-Charinus, Kate Endorf-Acanthea, Brianna Jackson¬-Peristrata, Yesenia Nuñez-Lycissa, Drew Endorf-Lysimachus, McKenzie Beals-Syra, Brandon Jackson-Demipho, Lupé Dimas-Eutychus, Desiree Bartels-Dorippa, Miranda Johnson-Pasicompsa, Zachary Harris-the Cook, Ricky Nuñez-Assistant Cook, Melanie Baxa-Student Director, Sara Jo Gurley-Stage Manager, Riley Brakhage and Kyle Schwisow-Set Directors, Ashley Hansel, Stephanie Bartels, Bethany Lintz, Karlee Schwisow, Becca Taylor, Blair Hofstetter, and Mikayla Schafer-Stage Crew.
The team attended 7:15 a.m. practices, had a matinee for the elementary, and held a public performance. On the 16, their hard work paid off with earning a Second Place Crossroads Conference trophy. Desiree Bartels, Ty Brakhage and Lupé Dimas received outstanding actor awards.
Their next performance was Districts at Shickley, on November 30, at 12:30 p.m. The cast gave an outstanding performance earning the Second Place trophy, only one point shy of tying the winning team. Outstanding actor awards were received by Ty Brakhage, Drew Endorf, Brandon Jackson, Lupe’ Dimas, McKenzie Beals, and Desiree Bartels. These events led to the ending of an exhausting, but rewarding season for the One-Act members.
The entire cast and crew would like to thank Rene’ Scheer for her tireless efforts for this production. Without her dedication, we wouldn’t have had such a rewarding season. Thank you, Rene’!
