Payday for Pins
This wrestling season Meridian partnered with Jefferson Community Health and Life to reward the hard work of the area wrestling teams. JCHL matched one dollar for each win by pin that each team recorded during the 2017-18 wrestling season. This season the Meridian wrestling team recorded 93 wins by pin. On Wednesday March 14th, 2018 the CEO of Jefferson Community Health & Life Chad Jurgens and Public Relations Director Lana Likens presented a check to head wrestling coach Chris Placek and the Mustang wrestlers for 93 dollars. The donation received will be used to help fund wrestling expenses from this past season. The Mustang wrestlers that led the team in pins this season are Micah Noel (29 pins) , Wyatt Haverluck (18 pins) , Lane Barton (16 pins) and Damian Cervantes (11 pins). A big thank you goes out to CEO Chad Jurgens, Lana Likens and JCHL for partnering with the Meridian Wrestling Program and recognizing the areas athletes accomplishments. - Thank you again Chris L.
