Local EMTs and Firefigters Honored
at Basketball Game
Being a public servant isn't always easy--especially when you put your life on the line for the safety of others. Sometimes you need to hear how much we admire and respect you and your commitment, dedication, and compassion. Our heartfelt thanks to you!
One of the FBLA goals for the year is to get as many ribbons at the State Leadership Conference as possible to wear on the name tags. To get a ribbon we must first complete an action and on January 16 we completed the “Feed Nebraska” ribbon action. This ribbon is a small gesture to us in comparison to celebrating the EMTs and firefighters at the basketball game. It is with great pride that we chose to celebrate the EMTs and firefighters. As a small gesture of gratitude, all of the EMTs and firefighters of the Meridian school were invited to be the Meridian FBLA’s guests at the MPIE’s soup supper.
At the halftime of the boys basketball game, EMTs and firefighters from Alexandria, Daykin, Ohiowa, Tobias, and Western were recognized. Due to other commitments, some of these great people weren’t able to attend, but we would like to thank them for their service anyway. Exeter and Milligan EMTs or firefighters were also recognized in the audience after the local presentation. On behalf of the Meridian FBLA, we would like to thank all of the local EMTs and firefighters that are working tirelessly to keep us and the community as safe as possible. In the words of Dr. Thomas Dooley, “Dedicate some of your life to others. Your dedication will not be a sacrifice. It will be an exhilarating experience because it is an intense effort applied toward a meaningful end.” And that is exactly what you do for us every day.
