NHS Toys for Tots Drive
A Complete Success for NHS
The Meridian National Honor Society sponsored Toys for Tots for one of their service projects for the year. Toys for Tots is an organization run by the United States Marine Corps. They ask for new or handmade toys for children whose parents are in need of money and aren't able to provide toys for their children. They collect the toys, wrap them up, and give them to parents to give to their children on Christmas Day, because every child deserves to open up a gift on Christmas. So NHS asked for donations, had cake raffles, and sponsored a movie to get support to make our goal of 50 toys. We did just that; NHS raised 115 toys altogether. So not only did we make our goal, we surpassed it with flying colors. So everyone in NHS wants to thank everyone who donated, all of those toys went to children around our community who needed them. Great job everyone.
