Meridian Students Headed to Atlanta
Leadership in Action has been the theme used this year for Nebraska FBLA. Over 1,900 people attended the State Leadership Conference in Omaha on April 3-5. Meridian had 14 FBLA members and their Adviser Kathy Soukup attend the State Leadership Conference. Meridian did an outstanding job in their competitive events. Winners were:
Kelsey in Who’s Who in FBLA
Michelle – Southeast Community College Scholarship $500
Michelle and Jess – Desktop Publishing – Honorable Mention
Kelsey – Computer Applications – First Place
Jess – Computer Applications – Honorable Mention
Tyson – Spreadsheet Applications – First Place
Michelle – Spreadsheet Applications – Second Place
Tyson, Andrew, Reid – Business Plan – First Place
Kelsey – DataBase Applications – First Place
Michelle – DataBase Applications – Fourth Place
Jess – Word Processing II – Eighth Place
All of the Meridian students that attended did an excellent job in all of their events. Meridian School would be proud of their accomplishments even though they were not in the winners division. All schools—Class A, B, C, and D--participate in one division. There are between 112-660 students that compete in each of the tests so getting into the winners division is awesome when you are competing with the Lincoln and Omaha schools as well as the other larger schools.
Meridian had 5 students that qualified for Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 25-30.
Other Meridian students that attended the Conference were Logan, Haley, Brianne, Brooke, Taylor, Jonah, Dustin, and Kyle.
