December Students of the Month
The Meridian 7-12 Staff has adopted a recognition program for students promoting the Pillar of Character Counts. The ideals highlighted include responsibility, trustworthiness, citizenship, caring, fairness, and respect. For December 2009 the following students were recognized:
These two students were nominated for Caring. They both helped Jim shovel snow around the school grounds after the big snow storm. These awards goes to Josh Aude and Kagan Kirk. Josh also helped deliver food to the food bank. Another Caring award goes to Emily Aude for helping whenever and wherever needed.
This student was also recognized for the quality of Respect. She is always polite and knows how to use the words “please” and “thank you”. This award goes to Angela Durflinger.
These students counted dollars for Student Council Make-a-Wish coin wars. These Citizenship awards go to Caya Knudson and Tanya Niederklein. Toni Niederklein also received the Citizenship award for taking the Stu-Co recycled paper to Fairbury. Another Citizenship award goes to Erin Bartels for announcing at the wrestling tournament and helping with the food drive.
Several students were nominated for the Responsibility award. Students volunteered extra time with the Stu-Co food drive, NHS bake sale raffle, FBLA fruit sales, and organizing concession stand workers for the Bob Oliver Wresting Meet. These students are Jonah Jordening, Brian Heiserman, Dustin Rohr, Jason Buchli, Sydne Endorf, Dillon Wolfe, and Brandon Bartels.
