Welcoming New Faculty

at Meridian

Bobby Kelley will be the 7-12 Principal and Activities Director. He has a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with an endorsement in Health & Physical Ed. K-12 and Coaching.Mr. Kelley's wife, April is a reading coach and will be working at ESU6. Mr. & Mrs. Kelley have two boys 9 years and 6 years and a girl 2 years. They live in Tobias.

Myra Kluck will be the Elementary Music teacher for the 2009-2010 school year. She earned an Elementary Education Degree from Hastings College, and she also studied for two years as a music major. Myra taught elementary music for Bruning Public Schools for 9 years. For the past several years she has been a substitute teacher for Merdian, Bruning-Davenport and Deshler school districts. She lives in Bruning with her husband Fred, who is a teacher at Bruning-Davenport, and her daughter Johanna, who is a 7th grader this year. Myra looks forward to making music with the elementary students at Meridian.

Lawrence VanderSchaaf III will be the 7-12 Social Studies Teacher and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach, JR High Volleyball, Boys Basketball, and Track coach for 2009-2010 school year. Mr. VanderSchaaf graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 2004 with a B.S. in Business and completed certification at Millersville University in May of 2009 with Social Studies Secondary Education Certification. He completed a full year student teaching intership in a seventh grade class at Reynolds Middle School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He has substitute teaching experience at Ralston, Gretna, Ashland-Greenwood, and Waverly school districts.


Ines Artigas will be the full time Spanish Teacher for Grades K-12 for the 2009-2010 school year. Miss Artigas is from the area of Madrid, Spain. She has a great deal of experience teaching K-12 students Spanish and English in Spain, Ireland, and Scotland. She is able to come to us through a program at the Nebraska Department of Education.
