Seniors who have not submitted college applications need to submit them as soon as possible for scholarship eligibility. Please notify the counselor's office when you have submitted your applications so that transcripts can be mailed to the college.
Parents can estimate whether students will qualify for grants by using College Funding Estimator at www.educationquest.org. To get an idea you can estimate your 2007 information but need to use the information from your 2007 tax return for completion of the FAFSA.
Parents should plan to complete their tax returns as early in 2008 as possible. Schedule early appointments with your tax preparer and ask them to complete your tax returns early so that accurate information can be used for the FAFSA.
Letters have been sent to local scholarship donors requesting changes and confirmations that they are planning to donate a scholarship in 2008. Seniors have received information on scholarships that have been sent to the school and should be working on scholarship applications.
Juniors toured programs at SCC-Lincoln, East Campus and City Campus at UNL. They heard about the new forensics and companion animal majors at UNL from professors that are teaching in those programs. This trip was paid for by the College Access Grant.
