What is the Meridian SCIP Program?

SCIP refers to the School Community Intervention Program.  The purpose of SCIP is threefold:

  1. To identify K-12 students exhibiting high risk behaviors which interfere with their ability to learn.  These behaviors may or may not be related to the use of alcohol and.or drugs,
  2. To provide alternative approaches in helping students deal with these problems, and
  3. To provide a support system for students and parents to address problem areas both within and outside the school setting.

Meridian has two SCIP teams.  The elementary team consists of Judy Grummert (leader), Natalie Meyer, and Pat Schwan.  The secondary team is Marilyn Bachle (team leader), Kathy Houser, Cheryl Luzum, Kathy Soukup, Susan Thomas, and Amy Weber.
